Production Welder

Global Power Components is looking for an experienced .035/.045 Production Welder. We are a UL approved heavy gauge steel diesel fuel tank fabricator.
Responsibilities:

  • Weld components in flat/vertical or overhead positions
  • Clamp, hold, tack-weld, grind or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding
  • Position and secure workpieces, using hoists, cranes, wire and banding machines or hand tools
  • Inspect products/equipment for defects/malfunctions

Required:

  • Manufacturing experience
  • Able to read blueprints
  • Able to troubleshoot and problem solve
  • Must be highly motivated
  • Able to communicate and work well with others
  • Must pass competency test, weld test and pre-employment physical including drug screen

Supervisor/Team Lead (1st, 2nd and 3rd Shift)

Global Power Components is a UL approved heavy gauge steel diesel fuel tank fabricator, as well as a builder of enclosures, trailers and containers. We are seeking a lead person with a broad manufacturing background to be able to assist in many areas of our shop floor.

Lead – General Labor in Manufacturing Environment

Responsibilities:

• Lead various teams, as assigned, throughout the manufacturing facility and have the ability to step-in where necessary
• Assist with tasks as necessary to complete assignments
• Train and motivate staff to meet demanding manufacturing requirements and schedules
• May be asked to step in to any position, so should have variety of general manufacturing experience
• Test products/equipment for defects/malfunctions
• Work in a safe manner
• Communicate changes and updates to employees on processes and procedures

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a manufacturing facility on the shop floor for minimum of four (4) years
• Previous experience in welding helpful
• Ability to measure, compare and make simple or complex shop calculations necessary to ensure products are in compliance with engineer or sales specifications using materials, methods and equipment generally found in a shop environment such as sanders, drills, air and electric hand cutting tools
• Previous experience working with and reading blueprints
• Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve a variety of situations on the shop floor
• Previous experience working with steel
• Previous experience working with various manufacturing machinery
• Previous experience working in a finishing department (ex: painting)
• Previous experience leading shop floor employees and motivating them to complete jobs in a timely manner and accurately to specifications

Paint Supervisor

The 2nd shift paint supervisor will supervise a team of production workers to meet the daily requirements of our demanding production schedule. The position is as a working supervisor, so besides supervising a team of production workers, the supervisor also works on the production line. We are looking for a core fit into the team that can help make a positive difference.

Responsibilities
• Work closely with Production Manager to meet production goals
• Coordinate daily activities of various production departments, delegating job responsibilites to appropriate shift personnel
• Interpret specifications, blueprints and job orders to workers
• Plan and organize work for assigned workers to meet the schedule
• Maintain production workflow between workers and departments
• Monitor all production for quality and make adjustments as necessary
• Monitor all the changes in the production schedule and make workflow modifications accordingly
• Troubleshoot and solve production problems as they occur
• Motivate team members to complete assignments in a timely, accurate manner, assuring effective use of all personnel
• Train new production employees to bring them up to speed in a timely manner
• Check all production equipment to ensure it is in good working order
• Work in a safe manner and promote safety to all employees
• Effectively use raw materials to reduce waste
• Communicate with all levels in the organization so all employees are aware of schedules and changes and other information related to the jobs they have been assigned to complete
• Inspect products/equipment for defects/malfunctions
Skills/requirements
• 3 to 5 years of manufacturing experience
• Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment in an effective, safe manner
• Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred, but not required
• Welding experience helpful, but not required
• Must be detail oriented
• Strong problem solving skills
• Project management skills a plus
• Minimum high school diploma or GED
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

Quality Control

Global Power Components is seeking a Quality Control Inspector for day-to-day inspection, documenting quality issues per our process and presenting data in a statistical format. The Quality Control Inspector will work under the supervision of the Quality Manager. Global Power Components is a small, dynamic, growing company.

Project management, employee development, process development, and process improvement will remain our highest company objectives. To achieve these objectives, employees may be required to complete continuing educational requirements. This may be considered part of the position's core responsibility.

Breakdown of daily activities is generally as follows:
• 30% Part inspection
• 50% Assembly inspection
• 20% Processing and analysis of data

Responsibilities:
The position's main responsibility is inspection and documentation of parts and assemblies. Once the data is collected, it will be turned into reports that would be used to develop training and/or process improvement strategies. Secondary tasks could fill up all or part of a business day at times. These tasks could vary greatly in day-to-day activities. Examples could include discussing issues with engineers, calling vendors, updating SOP's, or addressing anything that is out of the ordinary or with which there is an issue.

Prior to an interview, each candidate will be given the following assessments:
• Evaluation/math test
• Parts/tools evaluation
• Mechanical aptitude

Requirements:

  • Ability to follow directions is extremely important and then to follow through in a timely, accurate manner
  • Strong attention to detail is extremely important
  • Proficiency with MS Word and Excel (write reports in Word, create and use spreadsheets in Excel for analysis)
  • Basic math skills necessary to include fractions and decimals
  • Prior experience with blueprint reading
  • Ability to read and use a ruler
  • Possess mechanical ability/aptitude
  • Prior experience using Pareto Charts preferred

INDUSTRIAL PROJECT MANAGER

Global Power Components is a growing manufacturer of diesel fuel tanks and aluminum enclosures for generators. The manufacturing of this product is tied to a constantly changing work schedule. The schedule can change several times a day due to forces that are outside of our control.

 A core responsibility will be to work with the department supervisors to maintain a smooth work flow. If problem arise, a solution must be worked out immediately. If production in one department is held up, resources must be shuffled to a different department to help pull the schedule back in line. Issues and product changes will happen on a daily basis. Solutions must be quickly enacted in a calm and confident fashion.

 The position requires constant follow-up and great people skills. This person must have manufacturing experience, be able to meet critical deadlines, be very thorough and micro-managing will be a major responsibility. This is not a people-management position; it is a project management position! The position will report to the CEO and job responsibilities could change at any time.

 Core responsibilities

• Manage several customer projects to the daily/weekly/monthly schedule
• Allocate resources according to change in work flow
• Manage project flow to avoid bottlenecks
• Monitor long lead time items that may affect delivery
• Follow-up with incoming product and inventory for future projects
• Physically inspect custom items to be used on products

QUALIFICATIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
• Prepare sales quotes in a timely manner, determining pricing based on information obtained from potential and returning customers to meet their specifications.
• Work with sales team to meet customer specifications.
• Apply a broad knowledge of principles, practices and procedures to the completion of all assignments.
• Work independently on assignments that are of a broad nature.
• Understand dimensions and be able to interpret from blueprints into quotes.

MECHANICAL ENGINEER/DESIGNER

 

Global Power Components is a growing manufacturer of diesel fuel tanks and aluminum enclosures for generators.

This individual will perform a wide variety of layout and detailed design related duties in support of quotations, orders and manufacturing related projects. This includes navigating all the issues that arise, developing corrective action and implementing solutions. This individual will participate in and contribute to process improvement and design for manufacturability related activities, as well as standardization efforts.


• Must have a high level of understanding of SolidWorks, AutoCAD and Excel.
• Must have experience in sheet metal design.
• Must ensure that standard shop practices and capabilities meet the design requirements and are reflected in designs and drawings.

 

Non Mechanical Design
These tasks are not defined with limitations. They could range greatly in day-to-day activity. Examples would include making software troubleshooting calls, calling vendors, updating ECR'S (Engineering Change Requests), contacting customers or addressing other duties as they arise.

STAFF ACCOUNTANT

Under the direction of the Controller, the Staff Accountant prepares and reviews information for internal and external reports.

Core Responsibilities:
• General Ledger/Financial Reporting:
o Prepare journal entries as assigned.
o Assist with preparation of monthly financial statements.
o Prepare and review assigned general ledger account analyses monthly.
o Assist with preparation of budgets and forecasts.
• Cost Accounting:
o Collect data from multiple sources into job cost.
o Assist with development of job cost system.
o Collect data and prepare reporting for costs of raw materials, direct labor and overhead.
• Other:
o Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports as assigned.
o Organize and maintain document retention systems.
